1. Becky says:

Frank Peretti first inspired me to write. In fact, his Cooper Kids Adventures series was the first series I ever read. Later came Tolkien and the fantasy element. It’s amazing how the books we read as children affect us as adults.

  2. dmdutcher says:

Some pretty cool influences. Have you ever thought of writing a middle grade book?

    • Keven says:

I have, but I’m a little afraid to. I tend to not know how far is too far, and I’m afraid I’d be tempted to make it more mature than it needs to be. I’m not even sure I’m capable of writing at that level. I don’t know. We’ll see.

  3. Alex Mellen says:

Robin McKinley and Edgar Allen Poe were two of my jr. high influences as well. I loved McKinley’s awesome female heroes. Poe grabbed me first with the mystery stories actually, then the horror.

I know he’s not fantasy related, but Steven James is my other favorite thriller writer. You’d probably like his work. (Also, quick note, in your recap of author names, Arthur got switched to Author.)

    • Yes, the strong female leads made an impression with me too.
Thanks for the catch on the typo! Typing Arthur always feels weird under my fingers. Perhaps an admin might make the correction??

What do you think?
